Our "6" month baby

Yesterday, Westyn turned 6 months old!!! I can't believe it and let me tell you, she has grown up over night. We celebrated by doing what else... going out to El T's and putting her in the high chair for the first time with the floppy seat http://www.floppyseat.com/ (which I highly recommend). She did great and really enjoyed sitting in her own chair and having dinner with us. She played with her toys the whole time but kept throwing them on the floor which I think may have been on purpose.

When I say she has grown up overnight I truly mean it......

*She is thisclose to crawling

*She loves to stand up and dance around, her feet are always moving.

*She sleeps through the night, going to bed at 7:30 and waking between 5-6am

*Loves baby food - we have given her cereal, carrots, beans, peas, sweet potatoes, pears, prunes, apples, bananas and will soon move on to level 2 foods.

*She is becoming very aware of my breasts and is always clawing at them when she wants to either eat or just wants to cuddle. She gets so excited she starts to snort - so funny. Not sure whats going to happen in months to come when she gets stronger.

*She has 1 tooth coming through and it's just popping out of the gums now - her toothy smile is the best.

*She is very aware of little people, either babies or toddlers. Yesterday Misty and Henry came over and Henry and Westyn were actually playing together; makes for some great entertainment. She loves her cousin Campbell and gets so excited when she see her.

*In the last day or so she has started to laugh out loud - she was a tough one for a while as Troy and I tried everything to get her to laugh. She was tickling Henry's feet yesterday and starting laughing, it was pretty cute.

*Lastly, she now completely recognizes people and will actually reach for them. She does this with my Mom and Troy and I.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but I will post more on Monday after her 6-month Dr. appointment.

naked bum

I don't think there is anything cuter these days than Westyn's bum..... is that weird? She has got the cutest bubble bottom I have ever seen. She loves to spend time naked and usually fights me once our little play session is over when I try to put her diaper back on.

My one and only Love

Happy Anniversary Troy!
I would never want to live my life with any other person than you. You are my partner, my biggest supporter, the best Daddy ever & the most amazing 'Man' I could ever ask for. Our wedding day 3 years ago was the most amazing day of my life and I can't wait to spend eternity with you.

I definitely lucked out when you proposed to me. I would have never thought in a million years that I would be married to Troy of "Troy and Daves".

I Love You Sugee!

Blue-Eyed girl

I wish Westyn would stay a baby forever so I could continue to give her a million kisses a day. But I also wish she would easily go down for naps during the day so that I could get some work done. It seems that the last few days the only way she will nap is if we're going for a walk in the stroller. I guess I can walk a few times a day in order for her to soundly nap - maybe it will do me good as well. Well... since I can't get anything done I might as well take some pictures.

Here are some pictures from my very nonproductive Friday...

trying so hard to crawl

who wouldn't want kiss this face?

look at that little kisser...

okay Mom, enough with the pics (I think I've found her go-to color)

sleeping beauty

Westyn was 5 months old on Tuesday and I have to say I wish that time would stand still for a few months. She is growing SO FAST that it seems like she's going to be a toddler before we know it. She is so aware of her surroundings and is becoming very curious with objects and sights around her. She loves playing with her little toys but unfortunately has outgrown her play mat as it has become a hazzard since she is constantly rolling over and her little body gets stuck. The last few nights/mornings I've had to deal with coming into her nursery and finding her on her belly sometimes sleeping sometimes happy and sometimes crying because she can't roll back over. This has been somewhat scary since all the medical profesionals warn you about babies sleeping on their stomachs and the correlation with SIDS. But, on the other hand if she is strong enough to get herself on her belly then she must be old enough and smart enough to sleep on it.

Nothing new to report on her growth as she won't have another appt. until the 6 month mark, however if you go by clothes (and she's in 9 month clothes) then I would say she's doing great.

starts off like this....

but then I find her like this, and she is awake and pretty content

and we get her changed and she is a happy baby....

looking very grown-up I might ad

Moments with Grandpa

My father-in-law (Troy's Dad) came to visit this weekend on his way home from Alaska to South Carolina and unfortunately he left this morning. We had a great time with him and are so glad he was able to spend some quality time with Westyn and soak up all of her wonderful-ness. She sure loves her Grandpa and will miss him so much. She was whispering to me as he was driving away that she hopes she will see him again soon.. maybe in December......

We miss you already!

I thought this picture of Westyn & Kenai was so cute, she is becoming so infatuated with him (I didn't place her like this)
